Season Four Overview: "Yellowknife and Beyond"
ICE PILOTS NWT is back and better than ever. The hugely popular docu-series following the adventures of the maverick arctic airline Buffalo Airways returns for an action-packed fourth season. Visually stunning and emotionally gripping, Season Four takes viewers to places they – and Buffalo – have never gone before.
This season begins with tragedy, as Buffalo Joe and the northern aviation community mourn the lives lost after a series of airplane crashes in the North over the summer. Maintaining safety becomes a challenge throughout the season as Joe buys and sells planes, goes to battle with Transport Canada, and deals with pilots leaving the fold. The turbo-prop Lockheed Electra takes centre stage when the bitter cold wreaks havoc on the plane?s complex operating systems, forcing veteran captain Ray Weber to execute a chilling emergency landing. And two separate sales of CL-215 water bombers lead to exciting adventures just getting the aircraft to Asia and Europe.
Plus, Mikey takes on a personal challenge this season and ends up having the most extraordinary year of his life. And Buffalo hosts an array of guests like "Ice Road Trucker" Alex Debogorski, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, and rock legend Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden.
